A message from our President

Empowering Detroit Through

Sisterhood and Service.

On behalf of the Detroit (MI) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, it is my absolute pleasure to welcome you!

I am Kristi Stepp, President of the Detroit Chapter, and I am so glad you are here. This website is more than a digital space – it is an open door to a community of dedicated women who are passionate about making a meaningful difference right here in Detroit.

Whether you are joining as a supporter, a potential partner, or someone looking to get involved in the community, you belong here. We welcome you with open arms and invite you to explore everything our chapter has to offer.

There are so many ways to connect, collaborate, and make an impact together. We would love for you to be a part of our story.

With warmth and gratitude, Kristi Stepp, President, Detroit Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.

November 9, 1946, Margaret Rosell Hawkins and Sarah Strickland Scott, two young Philadelphia visionaries, co-founded The Links, Incorporated.

They invited seven of their friends to join them in organizing a new type of inter-city club. This organizing meeting of The Links was not a spontaneous action.

In 1945, Margaret Rosell Hawkins had conceived the idea of a group of clubs composed of friends along the eastern seaboard and had spent many hours with Sarah Strickland Scott in thinking, planning and discussing the possibilities of such an endeavor.
